  My mother contacted Streamline Enterprises for a bid for new basement windows, and when a salesperson came out to her house, he gave her a quote that seemed high to her. He pressured her to sign a contract immediately, and when she refused to do so he went to his car to "call his boss" to get the price lowered. When she still wouldn't sign, he repeated this tactic a couple more times and dropped the bill to the "absolute lowest price he could do", but it would only be good if she signed by 5pm that day. I became aware of the situation and encouraged her to get a second quote from another business before signing. The quote from the competitor was more than 8.5 times LOWER than Streamline's original 30 day quote, and more than 6 times lower than the "absolute lowest price" they could offer. When we contacted Streamline about it, we were told that this is the quote they would have given anyone for this project. The job has since been completed by the company who gave the second quote and they did a fantastic job.
